Societal shocks tend to reverberate in the courtroom. The COVID-19 pandemic is no exception. For over 20 years, DecisionQuest has been conducting nationwide juror research through social crises like the Enron scandal, 9/11, the Great Recession, the #MeToo movement and more recently, the global COVID-19 pandemic, tracking changing juror attitudes and serving as a social psychological seismograph of the American jury system.
To fully understand the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted a three-part nationwide survey in 2020 to track juror attitudes and biases in the rapidly changing litigation environment. We compared the data from potential jurors to those assessed in past studies, revealing trends that ultimately impact decisions.
This webinar will review findings from our longitudinal study and share what they may mean for your next case. Join us to explore:
- How jurors’ reactions to COVID-19 changed over the course of 2020
- How the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted verdict possibilities
- Profiling analysis for various case types including product liability, contracts, insurance, professional malpractice, labor and employment and more
- General pro-plaintiff or pro-defense propensities
- How the data can be used to refine case themes, juror profiling and jury selection
